My main subject over the past few years has mainly been all things BMX. back when I started there were not many people shooting BMX pics, especially from round my way, and I thought I should document this time of mine and my friends lives.
Having no training I just shot what I thought looked cool. I looked in the BMX mags and tried to copy the techniques before me. I guess that paid off in the end as I now contribute to the very mag which I took inspiration from all that time ago.
Although I'm a hell of a lot better now than I was then, I still study other photgraphers work and take ideas from them, to improve and keep things fresh. Who knows, maybe they do the same to me.
These days it's not just BMX I try to photograph, I'm trying to broaden my horizons, but when surrounded by such photogenic riders it's sometimes hard to go and photograph all the other things that surround me!
